Gouysse was born in a small Normand village, in the department of the Eure. His first exposition of painting took place in Brionne in 1967 whereas it was only 13 years old. Self-educated painter, he paints in a first time, landscapes and animals . Later pushed by his inspiration, he will leave in a fantastic world sometimes soft, and sometimes burning. he exposes his paintings in many places and galleries,for exemple, the Schèmes gallery in Lille ( oneiric galley). He writes the stories himself and realize them in front of the children and the adults.

            He participated with great painters such as Louedin, Vigneron, Guerlus, Carron, Budzyn, and well of others in great road shows.Jean Pierre Gouysse is also a wood-carver, but too a man who tells stories, fantastic stories .
            He intervenes since many years in painting, sculpture, but also like storyteller in the schools of neubourg. Multiple interventions: Artistic projects, classes with artistic and cultural project, local educational contract...
          

  In November 2002 he realized a project of itinerant storyteller in Africa, in the mountains of the AÏR in Niger. With camels he leaves to the meeting for seeing the children and the Tuareg people to tell his stories in the villages. He starts again this adventure of storyteller in February 2004 in the mountains of the AÏR in NIGER.

His oneiric paintings are currently visible in the Schème gallery in Lille.
